Saturday Morning Math

Eligibility Students in grades 1 through 6 ONLY are eligible.
Location Classes will be held in the: Room 203, of the University of Delaware’s Willard Hall Education Building, located on Main Street, Newark, DE.

Registration will be held at 200 Academy Street, Room 103.

You may print a registration form to complete at home, but you may not register early. Registrations received prior to actual registration dates will be returned.

Schedule Session I: October 18, 25; November 1, 8, 15, 22
Session II: January 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 and February 7
Session III: February 28; March 7, 14, 21, 28; April 4

Three time options will be offered as follows:

Section 1 – 8:30 am to 10:00 am

Section 2 – 10:15 am to 11:45 am

Section 3 – 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm

Format Designed to be an enriching experience that helps children realize that math is FUN. Part of the time will be spent doing hands-on problem solving math activities and the other part doing math activities on the computer.
Cost Tuition is $60 per student per six week session. Because of scheduling conflicts, missed lessons cannot be made up. Classes missed due to inclement weather will be rescheduled.
Faculty Kathleen Giordano, has ten years of teaching experience in early childhood education. She has a B.S. in early childhood education from Delaware State University.

Jenna Holden has teaching experience for 15 years in elementary education.

Karen Fredricks teaches grades 1-4 in the Christina School District.

Johnna Koshland is a degreed teacher and has been with the outreach program for 2 years.

Angie Alston has teaching experience in the New Jersey school system for more than 12 years.

Enrollment Enrollment will be limited. Students will be registered on a first-paid, first-served basis.
Registration Registration for Session III will be February 6th in the University of Delaware’s Mathematics & Science Education Resource Center, located in Room 103, 200 Academy Street, Newark, DE. We cannot accept credit cards. Fee must accompany application. Mail-in registrations are welcome, however checks will be returned if sent in before the registration date. Fee will be returned promptly to students we are unable to accommodate at a given time. Classes fill quickly, be sure to arrive early. We cannot hold seats in the classes.
Any student who withdraws from the course on or before the Wednesday preceding the first class will receive an unconditional refund of $60.
If withdrawal occurs after this date but on or before the Wednesday immediately following the first class meeting, $50 will be refunded provided a replacement can be found for that student. No refunds will be made for withdraws made after the Wednesday following the first class meeting.
